Under the direction of the Marketing & Social Media Manager, and the Director of Camps, the Social Media Coordinator will promote a season of summer fun at YMCA Camp Zehnder. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of the digital media landscape, social media, email marketing, strong written skills, photography experience, and enjoy working in an active, collaborative setting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to a weekly calendar of events, monitoring, scheduling and posting several times each day on YMCA Camp Zehnder social media accounts. Those looking to gain valuable online media experience with The Community YMCA (the Y) to help achieve the organization’s objectives to build awareness of our cause and inspire people to join, renew, give, volunteer and advocate for the Y are encouraged to apply.



  • Work with the Social Media Manager and Camp Director to implement engaging social media content aligned with weekly camp activities.
  • Collaborate with team to deliver weekly email communications to camp families featuring camp activities.
  • Curate digital photos and video for internal and external publication, and maintain a marketing content library.
  • Ensure a protective privacy policy with camp members.
  • Plan and input to content calendar on a weekly basis. 
  • Provide support to our marketing team at live and online events.
  • Demonstrate the Y’s core values of Caring, Honest, Respect & Responsibility.
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.  Complete abuse risk mangement training.  Follow mandated abuse reporting procedures, including reporting suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in social media and email marketing, including social media analytics
  • Excellent oral, written, spelling, grammar and organization skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Experience with software such as Google Docs, InDesign, Photoshop, Photo-Editing applications, MS Publisher, and Constant Contact

Physical Demands:

The employee must have the ability plan and particpate in an outdoor environment and setting; ability to walk, stand, lift, bend and stretch.
