Under the guidance of the Head Swim Team Coach of the RBY, an Assistant Coach 1 requires no former coaching experience, however must have aquatic experience and working with kids and young adults. A Coach 1 will carry out the workouts set forth by the Head Coach or Coach 2 or 3, correct and instruct all stroke and drill methods used by team, attend any or all dual meets, Invitational meets and Championship meets that is on the official team calendar. In addition, a Coach 1 is responsible to carry out additional tasks set forth by the Head Coach and/or the supervising Coach 2 or 3 that may be needed in order to meet the needs of his/her job, that contributes to the goal of maintaining a successful YMCA competitive swim program.
